I would like to add that, according to Miss O'Neil's U.S. passport applications (1919 and 1920), she was born Margaret O'Neil at Auburn, Buffalo, New York on 16 June 1894. Who's Who in the Theatre and other contemporary sources give her date of birth as 16 June 1897 or 1898, both of which were a polite fiction. She died in Marylebone, London on 7 January 1960.

Peggy O'Neil was raised by my great grandmother in South Buffalo where I currently live. Peggy O'Neil brought my great Grandmother over to London, and made a scrapbook for her with photos of the trip. I have the scrapbook and photos from her modeling days. My mother was named after Peggy O'Neil and Peggy O'Neil was my uncles Godmother. The scrapbook contains writings, photos and souvenir menus, payrolls etc m

Can anyone confirm her parents names? I had some information that said her father and mother were never married or possibly divorced and she took on her mother's maiden name of O'Neil. That her father was Thomas Casey from Ireland. If this is so then she would have been my great grandmother's cousin. I also had thought she was born in Buffalo NY. Perhaps a birth certificate can be found.
