He had married, as her 2nd husband, at St James Spanish Place, London, in March 1923 Paula A.G.M. Gellibrand (born 1898, daughter of William Clarke Gellibrand and his 2nd wife Isobel Marie Dever, and died 1964). They eventually divorced (ultimately, she would end up marrying four times) and he married 20/X/1937 –divorcing in 1954– Winifred May Birkin (better known as Freda Dudley Ward, 28/VII/1894-16/III/1983, daughter of Colonel Charles Wilfred Birkin and his American wife Claire Lloyd Howe, previously married to the Rt. Hon. William Dudley Ward, PC, MP, who divorced her in 1931 on the grounds of adultery), a former mistress, from 1918 to 1934, of the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII). The Cuban newspaper Diario de la Marina (year CV, nr 248, 17/X/1937) politely refers to Mrs Ward as ‘en otro tiempo pareja favorita de baile del Duque de Windsor cuando era Príncipe de Gales’.

The title of Marqués de Casa Maury was granted by Leo XIII on 8/IV/1897 as a personal (non-hereditary) title to the Cuban Pedro José de Jesús Monés y Maury (born 1848). Its use was authorised in Spain on 21/VI/1897 . It appears that the subject of the photograph is Pedro José Isidro Manuel Ricardo Monés (14/III/1896-27/VI/1968), known in England as Peter de Casa Maury (The London Gazette, 1/III/1963: ‘Notice is hereby given that PETER DE CASA MAURY of Flat 7, 58 Rutland Gate, London S.W.7, a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies by naturalisation, lately called Pedro Jose Isidro Manuel Ricardo Mones .Maury has assumed and intends henceforth upon all occasions and at all times to sign and use and to be called and known by the name of Peter de Casa Maury in lieu of and in substitution for his former name of Pedro Jose Isidro Manuel Ricardo Mones Maury').
