(Johann Chrysostom) Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Sitter in 2 portraits
Born in Salzburg, son of Johann George Leopold Mozart, violinist and composer at the Salzburg Court. Mozart's earliest known musical compositions date from 1761 when he was only five years old. His first public performance occurred the same year at the University of Salzburg. He toured Europe repeatedly and held positions at the Salzburg and Viennese Courts. His most famous works include the operas The Marriage of Figaro (1786), Don Giovanni(1787), Cosi fan tutte (1790) and The Magic Flute (1790). He died while struggling to complete his famous Requiem, a part of which was premiered at his own funeral mass.
