Born in Hungary, the artist trained at the Hungarian Academy of Art in Budapest and fled to England during the 1956 uprising. A former lecturer at Wakefield College of Art, his exhibitions included shows at the National Portrait Gallery and a retrospective at Leeds City Art Gallery in 1989.
