Pop singer and film actress born in Tennessee. Joined Ike Turner's revue and was married to him from 1958 to 1978. Together they made hits such as River Deep and Mountain High (1966). Revived her career with screen success in Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome (1984) and albums Private Dancer(1984), Foreign Affair (1989) and Wildest Dreams (1996). A biographical film written by Turner What's Love Got to Do with It? was released in 1993.

Tina Turner was born on Nov. 26th 1939 (not 1938 as listed). Earned the title "Queen of Rock n' Roll" and is one of the top-selling artists of all time. Holds the record for most single-concert sales ever.
