Born in Swansea Zeta-Jones made film debut in 1990 with Les Mille et une nuits (1001 Nights). Her role as Mariette Larkin in the TV series The Darling Buds of May (1991) gained her national prominence. Since the mid-1990s she has appeared in increasingly high-profile films including The Mask of Zorro (1998), High Fidelity (2000) and Traffic (2000). Played murderess Velma Kelly in Chicago for which she won an Oscar for best actress in a supporting role. Married actor Michael Douglas in 2000.
