Tricky(1968-), Musician, actor and music producer
Tricky (Adrian Thaws)
Sitter in 1 portrait
Record producer, vocalist, and musician. Bristol-born Tricky had a difficult childhood when his Jamaican father left before his birth and his Anglo-Guyanese mother died when he was aged four. Raised by his grandmother, he began writing lyrics aged 15 but a prison-term at 17 turned things around for him as he realised he never wanted to go back. He began his career as an early collaborator of Massive Attack before he began a solo career with his critically acclaimed debut album, Maxinquaye (1995). A pioneer of trip hop music, he has collaborated with a wide range of artists including Björk, Grace Jones, and PJ Harvey. Ununiform is his 13th studio album released in September 2017.
