Madrid born architect, Polo established the Foreign Office Architects together with Farshid Moussavi in 1993. He trained at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid, and later went on to do a Master in Architecture at the Graduate School of Design, Harvard University. He collaborated with Rem Koolhaas between 1991 and 1993. Some of the FOA's most famed buildings are; Carabanchel Social Housing, Spain, the BBC Music Box, UK and the John Lewis Department Store and Cineplex, UK.
