Courtaulds Professor of Polymer Chemistry at Durham and leader of the University of Durham Nanotechnology programme. Feast was formerly the Director of the IRC (Interdisciplinary Research Centre) in Polymer Science and Technology. Received a Royal Society of Chemistry Award in 2001 for the development of polymer chemistry: 'Getting an unpredicted result, a common experience, generates tension that is broken when 'the penny drops' and you create an explanation. Those rare moments are still magic, it never palls!'
