John Cherrington was my father, he was not the editor of 'country fair'! but he was an agricultural journalist and he did write for 'country fair'. Agricultural Editor of the Financial Times for 15 years or so. He wrote for farming magazines around the world. You'll find a collection of his articles in Candidly Yours, available second hand on the net.
He was the first presenter on BBC 1's TV Farming program and held that anchor position for ten years from 1964 when the program started.

John Cherrington was first and foremost a committed ,successful and passionate farmer. This is obvious from his autobiography 'On the Smell of an Oily Rag' in 1979.
