Chaka Demus is a Jamaican reggae musician and DJ, best known as part of the duo Chaka Demus & Pliers. Their collaboration begin in the early 1990's and both enjoyed considerable commercial success with mainstream fans than either did in their individual solo careers previously. On 18 November 2007, Chaka Demus & Pliers performed "Murder She Wrote" alongside American singer-songwriter Alicia Keys at the 2007 American Music Awards. In 2008 they released their 12th album So Proud.
