Noreena Hertz

Currently Associate Director of the Centre for International Business at the University of Cambridge. She received a degree from University College, London and a Wharton MBA by the age of 23. She began her career as an expert on Russia and worked for the World Bank advising the Russian government in its economy. Returning to Britain, she completed her PhD at Cambridge. In 1996 she went to the Middle East to head a team of 40 researchers developing the role of the private sector in the peace process. Her first book The Silent Takeover (2001), a critique of multinational corporations, was an international bestseller. Her second book was IOU: The Debt Threat and Why We Must Defuse It (2004).
