Emeric Pressburger (Imre Josef Pressburger)

Sitter in 1 portrait
Hungarian-born and resident in Britain from 1935, Pressburger worked on various projects for Alexanda Korda through whom he met film director Michael Powell. Together they formed 'The Archers', an innovatory film-production company. Their acclaimed films include The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp (1943), Black Narcissus (1947) and The Red Shoes (1948). The partnership dissolved in 1957 but reformed in 1966 on They're a Weird Mob (1966), and again in 1972 for The Boy who Turned Yellow.
