Actress. In her youth Fabia Drake was a leading Shakespearean player, establishing her reputation as a Shakespearean heroine during seasons at Stratford-upon-Avon. She later became known for her roles for television, including the BBC series The Pallisers and The Jewel in the Crown, and for cinema, including the Merchant-Ivory production of E.M. Forster's A Room with a View. She published her autobiography, Blind Fortune, with a foreword by Lord Olivier, in 1978.
