When Granville Brian Chetwynd-Stapylton was born on 19 September 1887 in USA, his father, Granville, a banker, was 28 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 33. He married Catherine Lyne on 14 June 1922 in Newport, Monmouthshire. They had three children during their marriage. He died on 20 January 1964 in Surrey at the age of 76. He was a member of The Stock Exchange, London, in 1918.
