Henry Roy Dean
(1879-1961), Pathologist and bacteriologistSitter in 7 portraits
Professor of Pathology and Vice-Chancellor of University of Cambridge (1937-9). 'Daddy Dean' was the last professor elected under rules that did not enforce a retiring age. He served as Master of Trinity Hall until he was 75. Under his Professorship Pathology was incorporated into the Natural Science course.
