Born 28 Aug 1872 at Rovie Farm, Rogart, Sutherland he was the son of Patrick Williamson Sangster (1819-1894) and Catherine MacEachern (1839-1877). He worked for the Town and Country Bank, Golspie for two years and was a member of the local Volunteers and Seaforths. He joined the Indian Army serving in France, the Middle East and India. Sangster died on 19 Jun 1951 at Roehampton.
