Elder son of the Rev. William Archibald Richardson, chancellor of St Canice' cathedral, Kilkenny, and his wife Mary Herbert née Knox. Born at Ennisnag, Co. Kilkenny, 16 Oct. 1909. Educated at Magdalen College School, Oxford; Trinity College, Dublin (BA 1934, MA 1943). Ordained deacon 1935 and priest 1936; curate of Ardamine 1935, of Queenstown (Cóbh) 1937; served as a naval chaplain in the 2nd World War; at the RN air station, Yeovilton, by 1949; at Portsmouth docks 1961; chaplain of the fleet, archdeacon of the Royal Navy, and honorary chaplain to the Queen 1963-66. Also secretary to the Jerusalem and East mission.
Died on his boat in Chatham harbour 11 Aug. 1968.
