Pierson Frank married my grandfather's cousin, Irene Thirlway, in 1914. I have a copy of the wedding photograph. During World War II he organised rapid response teams to repair over 100 breaches in the Thames walls caused by the bombing, and saved the city and Westminster from flooding. A plaque to his memory was put up near the Houses of Parliament in 2014. See the Wikipedia article about him.
