Ray Winstone

Actor. Born in Hackney, London, Winstone began boxing at the age of twelve at the famous Repton Amateur Boxing Club, and he was three times London Schoolboy Champion. He went on to study acting at the Corona School, Hammersmith, before being cast in the BBC Play production of Scum. His film credits include Quadrophenia (1979), The War Zone (1999), and Nil By Mouth (1997), for which he was awarded a British Independent Film Award. He has appeared in numerous television series including Robin of Sherwood (1984), Ghostbusters of East Finchley (1995) and Births, Marriages and Deaths (1999).
