Biography
Barratt, John Born in Sidmouth 1816. 1 sister. STUDIO: 222 Regent Street, Westminster October 1846 - 1848. Aka Coloured Photographic Portrait Institution. 1861: photographer & artist living at 10 Argyle Square, Euston Road, St Pancras. Times advert October 15 1846 as "just opened". Early Beard licensee. Times advert January 30 1847 claims success in England & France; described as photographer to Emperor Napoleon III. Advert originally published in Norwich Mercury September 25 1847, concerning a photograph of Jenny Lind available at 2 guineas, reproduced IN Amateur Photographer June 24 1887. Date of death unknown.
