Imelda Staunton

Born in London, Staunton studied at RADA and has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company and with the National Theatre. She has won three Olivier Awards for stage roles including The Corn is Green (1985) and Phoenix (1990). Staunton's performance in Kenneth Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing launched her film career and was followed with roles in Sense and Sensibility (1995) and Bright Young Things (2003). For her role in Mike Leigh's Vera Drake (2004) Staunton received a BAFTA Award for Best Actress. She plays Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) and appeared in the BBC series Cranford (2007-9).
