Sir Ewart, or uncle Frank as I knew him was my father's cousin. As a boy I used to go sailing with him in his yacht based at Bosham. His daughter is still alive and keeps in touch with my sister. I know a fair bit about him but his details are readily available on the Internet. He held a senior position at ICI, I think he was vice chairman, and was involved in development of the piat mortar during WW2. He was a lovely man, very knowledgeable and interesting to talk to. His wife, my auntie Bobs, was also a lovely person.
