The sketch is of Elizabeth Sophia Devisme daughter of David Devisme and Phillippa Devisme (nee Baillie). Phillippa being the daughter of Captain Thomas Baillie , he being associated with Greenwich Hospital and Trial. Elizabeth Sophia Devisme married John Baillie (storekeeper office or Ordinance at Chatham) The citation below will give you the information you are seeking regarding the authenticity of the sketch. The painting itself was left in the will of Phillippa Devisme, (Elizabeth Sophia's mother) to her friend, Mrs. Clarke along with other valuable items.

The Cocktails with a Curator series associates this with a portrait previously attributed to Hoppner, identified through the work of Eloise Owens. Xavier Salomon presents the work on Youtube.

I believe this may be Elizabeth Sophia De Visme (born 1775), daughter of David De Visme, who married John Baillie. Elizabeth's grandfather Pierre De Visme and his brother Philippe came to England from France as a Hugenout refugee in the early 1700s. The De Visme brothers became wealthy merchants in London. Many of their descendants became well known in their various fields.
