Artist of 12 portraits
The Italian firm Fratelli Alinari consisted of the brothers Leopoldo Alinari, 1832-65, Romualdo Alinari, 1830-91, and Giuseppe Alinari, 1836-90. It was founded in 1854 and is the oldest surviving photography firm. They photographed the architecture, artistic heritage, landscapes and towns of Italy. The firm first came to international prominence in 1855 with their first official presentation at the Paris Exposition. The company the brothers founded has evolved into the Alinari publishing empire.
