I do not know who Mr Carter is but I have some information on C Jackson the photographer. His name was Charles Jackson (1820-1885). He was a Watchmaker and carried on his business in the High Street at Kenilworth in 1851 before moving to Castle End in Kenilworth prior to 1861 where he remained until his death. He had his photographic studio in Castle End and I have copies of photographs of his brother Herbert Jackson, sister-in-law Sarah Jackson and niece Sarah Jackson taken at the studio in Castle End. Interestingly the picture of Herbert proves it was taken in the same studio as the photograph of Mr Carter as the flooring pattern is identical in both photographs. I hope this information is of interest to you. I would be more than happy to e-mail a copy of the photograph of Herbert for you to compare with the one in your collection.

Charles Jackson was my great, great grandfather. I would be extremely interested to receive any photographs taken by him or of his family if that is possible.
