(1963-2024), Psychotherapist; founder of Kids Company

Iranian-born psychotherapist and charity leader; in 1996 Batmanghelidjh founded the charity Kids Company, which provided support to vulnerable children and young people. She dedicated her entire career to social justice for traumatised and disadvantaged children, showing them that they were worthy of love, support and respect. Batmanghelidjh considered herself very privileged to be working with children whom she described as extraordinarily courageous and dignified. In the words of her family she was an "endless source of inspiration, a fountain of wit, and a kaleidoscope of colour."
