Fashion designer, magazine editor and journalist. Bartley studied at Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design before beginning her journalism career with the column 'Pony Tales' for the ES Magazine. She became fashion editor of British Vogue and in 1999 launched her label influenced by punk and a quirky English style. Bartley's handbags for Mulberry (2002) helped reinvent the fashion house and led to a number of international collections. Named Designer of the Year in 2008, Luella ceased to trade in 2009. She has since published Luella's Guide to English Style (2010.)
