Annie Whitehead

Annie Whitehead started her professional career aged sixteen, playing with Ivy Benson's legendary All Girls Orchestra. She moved to London in the late 1970s, working with many well-known musicians including Joan Armatrading, Elvis Costello, Paul Weller, and Bill Wyman. In 1984 Whitehead formed her own band and released Mix Up her first album. Whitehead was a member of the jazz-dance musical ensemble Working Week, that was active during the 1980s and 1990s. Other albums include Home (2000) and The Gathering (2000).
