Richard Harding Seddon [1915-2003] was born in Sheffield and became a student in the School of Design at the Royal College of Art, where he gained certificates in lithography and wood engraving in 1939. He became the President of the Royal Watercolour Society and worked as an art tutor and writer. He joined the RAOC in 1939 and later became a war artist and after the war produced work for the Pilgrim Trust.
