Detmar Blow

(1963-), Art dealer

Sitter in 1 portrait
Art dealer. Blow left his career as a barrister in 1998 to set-up the gallery Modern Art in Shoreditch with his late wife, fashion muse, Isabella Blow, and Stuart Shave. Modern Art became one of the most successful contemporary art galleries in the East End of London in the late 1990s. In 2005 they set up Blow de la Barra, a gallery that later evolved into Blow111 forming a partnership with Rui Brito from the Lisbon based Galeria111. Blow currently lives between Lisbon, London and Gloucestershire and is writing a biography of Isabella.

Sometimes we have not recorded the date of a portrait. Do you have specialist knowledge or a particular interest about any aspect of the portrait or sitter or artist that you can share with us? We would welcome any information that adds to and enhances our information and understanding about a particular portrait, sitter or artist.
