I recently found a very old edition of Edward Stoughtons book of Windsor Castle. it had belonged to someone in Malvern.
Inside this beautiful book, is a frontispiece of dark red paper inscribed in careful handwriting
'Caroline Grey , North Tower, Windsor Castle 1858'
I was really taken aback as had no idea until googled the name who she was??
It is strange as the edition is to commemorate Prince Albert after his death and i feel could be a gift from queen Victoria to her extra lady of the bedchamber?
