Actress; studied at the Royal Academy of Music under Manuel Garcia; after a successful career in opera and musical comedy as 'Becky Sharp' in 1901; became the leading comedienne of her day and performed new works by Barrie, Maugham and Coward known for her elegance and meticulous performances.
