Richard Purcell (H. Fowler, Charles or Philip Corbutt)
(active 1746-died 1766), EngraverArtist associated with 77 portraits
Purcell started his career working for a number of printsellers in his native Dublin. He moved to London in around 1755 to join his Dublin master John Brooks and a number of other Irish engravers. Purcell again worked for various printsellers, never establishing himself as an independent engraver.
