Oil by Reynolds in Metropolitan Museum New York, whole-length with his sister Lady Elizabeth Capel; a sketch is in the Brinsley Ford collection and mezzotint by C. Turner 1817 (Alfred Whitman, Charles Turner, 1907, 344).

Oil by Gainsborough, location unknown (Whitley, Gainsborough, p 243); a Gainsborough landscape in Brinsley Ford collection was given by Essex to Richard Ford who married his daughter in 1824.

Oil by Danloux exhibited RA 1793 (625), engraved by Harding.

Drawing by Edridge exhibited RA 1802 (462 with his Countess), engraved in stipple.

Oil by Hoppner exhibited RA 1809 (53) but Turner's mezzotint is lettered: Painted by J. Hoppner Esq RA 1806; the head closely resembles Edridge's drawing; a pencil copy by Bone is in NPG library (Henry Bone’s annotated pencil drawings for miniatures and enamels) and an enamel copy by Bone was exhibited RA 1813 (593); Hoppner's oil, formerly at Cassiobury, is possibly that listed in Holland House Catalogue, 1904, 33.
