Miniature by Smart painted in India in 1791, belonged in 1931 to Mrs Home, widow of the sitter's grandson and was sold Christie's 28 April 1983 (354).

According to a letter from Mrs Lawrence in NPG archive there was another self-portrait, of the sitter slightly older, belonging to a cousin (Brig.-General Sir Archibald Fraser Home, d. 1953, of Cavenham Park, Bury St Edmunds), probably that offered to the NPG by Appleby Brothers in 1975.
