Lithograph by an unknown artist, head and shoulders vignette with facsimile of signature: William Knibb August 1st 1838.

Daguerreotype taken during his last visit to England in 1845, three-quarter-length seated to right, legs crossed, holding a book, engraved in line by J. Cochran for Hinton's Life, 1847, frontispiece. This may have been the portrait mentioned by Lewis as having been lent by the Baptist Missionary Society for Baxter's print (C. T. C. Lewis, George Baxter, 92); it also formed the basis for a lithograph vignette by Bell Smith printed by Hullmandel & Walton.
