A statue by N. N. Burnard of 1852 (based on the bust by Brockedon (see NPG 2442), and a sitting from Lander's daughter (see ILN, XX (1852), 248) is on top of the Lander column at Truro (now much weathered); an engraving by T. A. Dean, after W. Bagg junior, was published Colburn and Bentley, 1830, for Lander's Records of Captain Clapperton's Last Expedition to Africa, frontispiece; an anonymous engraving was published J. Murray, 1832 (example in NPG), for R. and J. Lander, Journal of an Expedition to Explore the Course and Termination of the Niger, I, frontispiece.
