John Linnell (1792-1882), Painter

Linnell appears in the water-colour of 'Students at the British Association, 1807' by A. E. Chalon in the British Museum; a drawing by G. Richmond of 1828 was sold at Christie's, 7 July 1965 (lot 17), bought Agnew; there are several photographs in the NPG, and two woodcuts from unidentified magazines; a portrait called Linnell was formerly in the collection of Colonel M. H. Grant.
