Sir (Francis) Leopold McClintock (1819-1907), Naval officer and Arctic explorer

A painting by F. Yates of 1890 is in the collection of John McClintock and Mrs M. McClintock, exhibited First Annual Exhibition, Royal Society of Portrait Painters, 1891 (27), and Great Irishmen, Ulster Museum, Belfast, 1965 (124); a painting by R. Dowling was exhibited RA, 1880 (390); a marble bust by J. R. Kirk is in the Royal Dublin Society, exhibited Royal Hibernian Academy, 1862; a woodcut, after a photograph by Beard, was published ILN, XX (1852), 336, and an engraving by D. J. Pound, after a photograph by Cheyne, was published 1861 (example in NPG), for the 'Drawing Room Portrait Gallery'; there are various photographs and engravings in the NPG.
