Soc., XXIV, 1936, p 139) in October 1737 at Bulstrode. A version from Middachten Castle exhibited de Stadhouder-Konig, Rijksmuseum, 1950, no.586, and Orange and the Rose, 1964, no.62. A three-quarter-length version was listed at Rhoon Castle and a modern copy at Amerongen (R. W. Goulding, Catalogue of Pictures belonging to … the Duke of Portland …, C. K. Adams ed., 1936, p 143).

Version at Middachten (illus. M. E. Grew, William Bentinck and William III: The Life of Bentinck, Earl of Portland, from the Welbeck Correspondence, 1924, f.p.126). A similar portrait without Garter badge engraved J. Houbraken (illus. M. E. Grew, William Bentinck and William III: The Life of Bentinck, Earl of Portland, from the Welbeck Correspondence, 1924, f.p.302) and R. Williams (J. Chaloner Smith, British Mezzotinto Portraits, 45). A version until recently at Broadlands (recorded in the Palmerston list of 1724). Goulding mentioned a copy signed Jacobus Dringen then belonging to Henry Aldenburg Bentinck at Indio CA (R. W. Goulding, Catalogue of Pictures belonging to … the Duke of Portland …, C. K. Adams ed., 1936, p 302).
