Herbert is in the Royal Institute of British Architects (plate 765), exhibited RA, 1845 (423), SKM, 1868 (588), and VE, 1892 (177), etched and engraved by the artist (example in NPG), and lithographed by J. H. Lynch, published C. Dolman, 1853 (example in British Museum), for the Metropolitan and Provincial Catholic Almanac; a copy by F. Hill is also in the Royal Institute of British Architects; a painting by A. J. Oliver was exhibited RA, 1819 (346), and International Exhibition, London, 1874 (189), lent by E. W. Pugin; a painting by W. B. M. Measor was exhibited RA, 1862 (606); a lithograph by J. Lynch, after a drawing by J. Nash, is reproduced B. Ferrey, Recollections of A. N. W. Pugin and A. Pugin (1861), frontispiece; Pugin's monument, with an effigy, is in St Augustine's, Ramsgate, reproduced Architectural Review, CIII (1948), 165.
