Ann Taylor (Mrs Gilbert) (1782-1866), Writer of children's poetry; daughter of Ann and Isaac Taylor

Two portraits used as frontispieces to her Autobiography and Other Memorials of Mrs Gilbert show her as a 'sweet-tempered child and again as a sweet-tempered old lady' (Dictionary of National Biography).

A silhouette of her aged about 20 and the drawing of her at 73 are reproduced in Doris Mary Armitage, The Taylors of Ongar, 1939, pp 89 and 115.
