Jane Taylor (1783-1824), Writer of children's poetry; daughter of Ann and Isaac Taylor

In addition to the family group (NPG 1248) Isaac Taylor, her father, painted a miniature of her to be engraved in stipple probably by himself for the title-page to Mrs Knight's Life of Jane Taylor, 1880.

Silhouette is reproduced in the Memoirs and Correspondence of Jane Taylor, 1825.

Charcoal drawing touched with red and white chalk in NPG Reference Collection, on off-white paper clearly watermarked 1824 (18.5 x 17.5 cm), is signed with an indecipherable monogram and the date 1831.
