Linnell's portrait in the Science Museum, signed and dated 1816 and painted shortly before Trevithick sailed for Peru, was exhibited 'British Portraits', RA, 1956-7 (429); marble bust by C. H. Mabey in the Institution of Civil Engineers, was made in 1897 from Linnell's oil.

1828
Medal, one of 16 illustrating science and philosophy presented to George IV, shows the high-pressure steam engine (Laurence Brown, British Historical Medals, 1980, 1336).

Oil in public library Dartford, head and shoulders by an early 19th century artist.

Posthumous
1860
Medal by J. S. Wyon exhibited RA 1860 (870) given by the Grand Trunk Railway Company of Canada as a good conduct award to its drivers.

1929
Bronze statue by Leonard Merrifield, exhibited RA 1929 (1394) was unveiled outside the public library, Camborne, Cornwall, in 1932.
