Oil by Lawrence at Apsley House (Kenneth Garlick, ‘Catalogue of Paintings, Drawings and Pastels of Sir Thomas Lawrence’ in Walpole Society Journal, XXXIX, 1964, p 33), whole-length in uniform of Portuguese field marshal with 7 Peninsula clasps and in background the aqueduct described by Beckford; a copy by Evans in British Embassy, Lisbon, was bequeathed by A. J. Beresford Hope 1919.

Oil by Baron Gerard in private collection (Courtauld Institute IV), head and shoulders holding baton decorated with castles, wearing Commander's Cross for Peninsula War (Portugal 1816) and Star of Bath.

Haslock in Beresford family collection in 1961 attributed to Lawrence but identifiable with Haslock from Rogers' stipple engraving in Virtue's Portraits of Conservative Statesmen, 1844, II plate 49; a similar portrait (whole-length standing with gloves and top-hat) was engraved by P. Lightfoot with artist's name as G. Bradley (impressions of both in NPG).

Beresford appears in J. P. Knight's 'Peninsula Heroes assembled in the United Service Club' exhibited RA 1848 (321), see Montgomery Hyde, Londonderry House, 1947, p 57; a pencil sketch by Knight was offered to the NPG July 1881, half-length with Stars and 7 campaign clasps (Sir George Scharf’s Trustees’ Sketch Books, XX, VII, 79).
