Man of fashion mainly known through his second wife Margaret, leader of the famous Blessington-D'Orsay set at Gore House.

'When his lordship first entered the arena of fashion he was strikingly handsome … but he was become pale and slender, an elegant listlessness pervaded his whole frame ...' (John Gait, Sir Andrew Wylie, 1822 where Blessington was used as a model for 'the Earl of Sandyford').
