Hannah More (1745-1833), Religious writer

Philanthropist, author; b. Stapleton, Bristol, the youngest of five sisters; published five plays, including Percy, and poetry 1773-79, frequenting London literary society; until 1789 a schoolteacher in Bristol with her sisters; thereafter she founded Sunday schools in Somerset and wrote on religious, moral and educational subjects.
