A painting by H. W. Pickersgill is in the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa, exhibited RA, 1860 (152), and VE, 1892 (268); a painting by R. Smith is owned by the Corporation of Sheffield; a marble bust by T. Smith is in the Mappin Art Gallery, Sheffield, and a painting by G. F. Watts was formerly there (destroyed Second World War), engraved by H. Robinson, as after J. Watts, published J. Saunders, 1840 (example in NPG); a painting by J. Green is in the Guildhall, Bath, exhibited RA, 1833 (377); ten caricature drawings by J. Doyle are in the British Museum; busts by E. G. Papworth junior and T. W. Rowe were exhibited RA, 1859 (1359), and 1874 (1623); there is a lithograph cartoon by 'Faustin' (example in NPG); woodcuts were published ILN, XXVI (1842), 224, X (1847), 324, LXXV (1879), 549 (after a picture by Wyllie), and The Graphic, IX (1874), 384; there are four photographs in the NPG, and another is reproduced as a woodcut ILN, XXVI (1855), 480; there is an engraving by D. J. Pound, after a photograph by Mayall (example in NPG); a woodcut was published in an unidentified newspaper or magazine (cutting in NPG).
