Early Georgian Portraits Catalogue

John Sheppard (1702-1724), Criminal

The more substantial portraits are those already listed. An engraved whole length claimed to be Drawn from the Life shows Sheppard shackled to the floor at Newgate. A drawing of the escape from Newgate is listed as by Samuel Wale (1720?-86). [1]
